He also serves on the board of the public‑listed investment holding company MyTech Group Berhad (formerly Widetech (Malaysia) Berhad), where he first served from 2002 to 2006 before rejoining in 2021.

Academically, Douglas holds degrees in Commerce and Law from the University of Melbourne and is a qualified Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia. Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, he is a partner at Nesan, Cheng & Co., Advocates and Solicitors, and previously contributed to the financial sector as a fund manager with Rashid Hussain Asset Management Sdn Bhd.
